Summary

Learn how to quickly publish your iWeb website using your Ecenica Hosting account instead of Apple MobileMe. We’ll show you how to publish your iWeb site to a local folder and then upload your site using FTP.

Publishing your site

1. In iWeb, click ‘Site’.

2. Select ‘Local Folder’ from the drop down list.

3. Click ‘Choose’.

4. Select your Desktop and click ‘New Folder’.
5. Enter ‘mysite’ for the folder name and click ‘Create’.
6. Click ‘Choose’
7. ‘Folder Location’ should now show ‘/Users/YourName/Desktop/mysite’.

8. Click ‘Publish Site’.

9. iWeb will copy your website to the new ‘mysite’ folder on your desktop.

Uploading your site

1. You will now need to upload your website using FTP. To do this first download and install CyberDuck which is free, open-source FTP program for Mac. How do I upload my website using Cyberduck FTP for Mac OSX?
2. Open CyberDuck.
3. Click ‘Open Connection’.

4. Fill in your FTP details for your web hosting.

Enter:
• The server as ftp.yourdomainname.com.
• Your FTP username.
• Your FTP password.
5. Click ‘Connect’.
6. A list of folders will now, double-click ‘httpdocs’ to open your public folder.

7. If this is the first time you have uploaded a website to your Ecenica Hosting webspace then you will see the following files and folders. If you already have uploaded a website then we recommend deleting all files and folders apart from those listed.

8. Open Finder.
   

   Open Finder

9. Navigate to your ‘mysite’ folder on your desktop. Inside, open the second ‘mysite’ folder by double-clicking on it.

10. Select all the files in the folder by holding the Shift key + clicking the top and bottom files.

11. Drag the files and folders from Finder to CyberDuck.

12. CyberDuck will now begin to upload your files to your Ecenica Hosting webspace.

Viewing your site

1. Open Safari.
2. Enter your domain name into the address bar and press Enter.
