How To Flush DNS

 

Before you start:

  • Close any web browser windows you have open.
  • Close any email applications.

How to Flush DNS in Windows

  1. Click Start > Run…
  2. Enter ipconfig /flushdns
  3. Click OK to execute.

Microsoft.com “/flushdns : Flushes and resets the contents of the DNS client resolver cache. During DNS troubleshooting, you can use this procedure to discard negative cache entries from the cache, as well as any other entries that have been added dynamically.”

  2. Enter sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
