Summary
An autoresponder will automatically reply to emails sent to your email address. This is useful if you want to create an out of office reply, holiday/vacation reply, or an automatic response to customers.
Setting an autoresponder in cPanel
User
If you are an email user you can set your auto responder by logging into cPanel Email Settings with your email address and password.
- Open cPanel Email Settings in your web browser.
- Enter your email address and email password.
- Click Auto Responders.
- Click Add Autoresponder.
- To change the character set use the drop-down list. Otherwise leave this as default.
- Leave the interval period set to 8 hours.
- Enter the name you want the email to appear from. For example, John Smith.
- Enter a subject for the autoresponder to reply with. For example, ‘Out of office reply’. If you leave this field empty the autoresponder will use the same subject as the sender sent their email with.
- Check HTML message if you would like the autoresponder to use HTML. If you are not sure then leave this unchecked.
- Enter your auto-response message in the ‘Body’ text box.
- Click Create/Modify.
Admin
- Login to your Ecenica Hosting cPanel.
- Click Autoresponders.
- Click Add Autoresponder.
- To change the character set use the drop-down list. Otherwise leave this as default.
- Leave the interval period set to 8 hours.
- Enter the beginning part of your address for the Autoresponder. For example, type ‘info’ if you want the autoresponder to reply to emails set to info@yourdomain.com
- If you have more than one domain then please select the domain you want to use from the list.
- Enter the name you want the email to appear from. For example, John Smith.
- Enter a subject for the autoresponder to reply with. For example, ‘Out of office reply’. If you leave this field empty the autoresponder will use the same subject as the sender sent their email with.
- Check HTML message if you would like the autoresponder to use HTML. If you are not sure then leave this unchecked.
- Enter your auto-response message in the ‘Body’ text box.
- Click Create/Modify.
The auto-responder will start to reply to emails immediately. It is not possible to disable and save autoresponders for future use. To remove an autoresponder or disable it, you must delete it.This page is wiki editable click here to edit this page.
