Domain Names, Getting Started, Start a New Website, Transfer a Website

How long does it take for my domain name to become active?

New domain name registrations, domain transfers and changes to your domain’s DNS records can take up to 72 hours to become active.

The 72 hour wait is required to allow your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to refresh their DNS Cache. Until their DNS servers have been updated, you may not be able to see your domain name, or if you have made DNS changes you may continue to see your old website.
